Scope of the role:

Located in the Machine shop department the CNC Machinist will be responsible for producing parts to fulfil Assembly, Aftermarket and Spares requirements. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

·        Be highly involved in contributing to the entire manufacturing process, from completion through to delivery.

·        Ensure procedures are adhered to and documentation is controlled and good quality parts are given to Stores in time

·        Programming, setting and operating CNC machining centres

·        Producing complex components in accordance with quality, delivery and cost requirements

·        Working and measuring to very tight tolerances

·        Flexibility across various departments to include turning, milling, grinding, boring, file and dress, heavy machining and inspection as and when required

·        Working from and understanding engineering drawings and computer generated models

·        Ability to apply knowledge of materials and machining methods

·        Ability to work with minimal supervision and plan workload effectively to achieve targets

·        Prove out and editing of CNC Programmes

·        Act as a positive role model for good Health & Safety practices

Education and Experiences

·        Apprenticeship trained engineer

·        Practical knowledge of milling, boring, turning and grinding processes.

·        Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances

·        Good communication skills

·        Knowledge of modern manufacturing practices: continuous improvement, 5S, Right first time etc.

·        Customer service attitude

Shift flexibility is required to fulfil business needs
