Responsible for developing, leading and directing all quality initiatives and programs for our Cleveland, Ohio manufacturing facility. The manufacturing facility consists of sales, engineering, purchasing, human resources, manufacturing processes consisting of, but not limited to, machining, fabrication & assembly. The Quality Manager will have responsibility for assuring customer requirements compliance by developing and managing quality policies, procedures and programs that facilitate continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Development and implementation of quality metrics, policies and procedures that ensure product quality
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system compliance and surveillance audits and investigating customer complaints
- Lead customer/job specific quality requirements and communications
- Prepare quality documents and reports to support customer needs and internal continuous improvement efforts
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development
- Provide leadership for problem solving and resolution that improve the company's business processes
- Works directly with purchasing and procurement to establish supply chain requirements to ensure compliance of supplied materials
- Ensure compliance with all government and industry standards/codes for product quality
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to resolve quality related concerns pertaining to non-conforming product
- Monitor quality system trends using process control methodologies, improvement actions and ensure proper root cause analysis and countermeasures
- Cooperates with Project Execution to ensure Project Quality requirements (ITP, quality documentation & specifications, etc.)
Education and Experiences
- Knowledgeable in 6 sigma techniques and tools
- Experience with implementing Lean Processes and Practices
- Certified Welding Inspector & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level II experience preferred
- 5-8 years of quality/process management required in a ISO 9000/9001certified or compliant facility
- Strong knowledge and use of computer applications including Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization, as well as, with customers and supply chain
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, applied science, or engineering field required
