The Project Engineer is responsible for but not limited to executing the design of a safe and effective thermal process solution ensuring the engineering is appropriate for the job, documented, to schedule, with no defects and with a high level of quality. The project engineer carries the project technical solution from sales order entry through end of project.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

• Will ensure the accurate execution of all technical aspects of a thermal process solution.

• Will participate in client site visits as required.

• Interfaces with customers and suppliers to troubleshoot, analyze and perform root cause analysis on application specific problems and propose solutions with supporting cost estimates.

• Makes visible areas of risk on a project; communicates the risk and takes steps to mitigate the risk in the technical design.

• Reviews system design and monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and contract requirements.

• Prepares and/or analyzes drawings, specifications and other documents to determine design factors such as size, shape, arrangement of components, subsystems, and environment at the customer site.

• Collaborates with Engineers, the Project Manager and Site Superintendents to provide clear definition of deliverables, resolve design and test problems to meet quality, cost and timing targets.

• Cooperates and communicates effectively with Project Manager and other project participants such as Sales and Service to provide assistance and technical support.

• Reviews engineering deliverables and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

• In support of the Project Manager ensures that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. 

• Technical product or application support of an order.

• Reviews and applies customer specifications and company engineering standards.

• Has a working knowledge of company engineering standards - mechanical and electrical.

Education and Experiences

• BS in Engineering or related field of study

• 5+ years experience designing Thermal Solutions of all levels of complexity preferred.

• Experience with optimizing the mechanical, electrical and controls architecture of a thermal solution.

• Working knowledge of industrial flow control products and instrumentation.

• Proficiency with NFPA 86.

• Proficiency with EN-746-2 and CSA B149.3 a plus.

• Proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software a plus.
