The facility maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment and property to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Reading and reviewing blueprints
  • Applying knowledge of system operation to select the most suitable pipe type and size
  • According to specifications, install support equipment like hangers, brackets, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic cylinders
  • Inspect the worksite to ensure no obstructions to the pipe and if there are any holes or interference, repair or modify the design
  • Cutting pipes using handheld and power tools like hammer and chisel, cutting torch, pipe cutter, and pipe cutting machine
  • Threading and bending pipes using pipe bending tools and threading machines
  • Assembling and installing tubes, fittings, and non-metallic attachments.
  • Joining pipes using threads, soldering, brazing, or cemented connections
  • Inspecting piping systems and machinery to detect machinery malfunctions
  • Creating protective pipe layers using paints and other mechanisms
  • Operating material movement machinery to lift pipes, support equipment, and heavy machinery
  • Manage the boiler and other related machinery, ensuring it is functional and safe at all times
  • Inspect safety devices on a daily basis, running tests and reporting any unusual situations
  • Monitor boiler water and fuel levels, making adjustments and activating valves as necessary to keep the boiler operational
  • Maintain records of operation, fuel and water levels, completed maintenance and other data
  • Strong knowledge of industrial machine repair
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant’s facility equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment including CNC Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical machining centers, Bridgeport Mills, Press Brake, Shear and other general industrial repair
  • Perform mechanic tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic
  • Perform electrical installation and repair of 240/460 volt
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required

Education and Experiences

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and industrial skills, with some PLC experience and MU
  • Ability to read complex electrical diagrams and install/repair 240/460 volt
  • Experience with CNC trouble shooting and equipment repair
  • Apprenticeship experience or equivalent years of education and production maintenance experience
