  • Competently understand and work under the guidelines, policies, procedures, and instructions of the Quality System to achieve quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Maintain a good, professional working relationship with all company personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Competently work in a fast-paced, project-oriented, deadline-driven, and continuously-improving environment to meet company goals concerning schedule, technical accuracy, and budget.
  • Use engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Willingness to work in both individual and group environments.
  • Willingness to immediately travel as required by air or automotive.
  • Willingness to travel to and work at remote locations throughout the year with 30% being an average yearly travel requirement.
  • Maintain technical expertise in controls systems hardware and software technology through training and other forms of continuing education (such as training courses and classes, technical journals and magazines, professional societies, site visits, etc.).
  • Prepare scope of work and technical specification documents during project proposal and execution phase.
  • Assist in preparing electrical project estimates.
  • Review and verify system designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Assist in selecting, negotiating, and managing electrical subcontracts.
  • Work with engineering subcontractors to coordinate their activities and to ensure the subcontractor work is checked and the standards and quality are within Fives Intralogistics’ guidelines.
  • Review and select appropriate Fives and OEM equipment to satisfy project functional requirements.
  • Ensure that all project tasks, milestones, schedules, and budgets are defined, communicated, accurately reported, and met.
  • Design electrical control system equipment, components, products and systems for the control of automated and conventional sortation and conveying systems.
  • Review and approve component and/or equipment design changes and drawing releases.
  • Develop activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to customer requirements, functional specifications, and national and local codes.
  • Maintain optimum use of time and resources through hands-on approach and/or effectively assigning project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects including but not limited to, preparation of scope of work documents, specifications review, technical studies, product design and drafting, product testing and validation, and site support.
  • Support the annual performance review process of other electrical engineering resources as required.
  • Provide technical leadership to supply chain, production, and field installation personnel.

Education and Experiences

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (four-year college or university); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven technical leadership for medium to large scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Project or equivalent.
  • Understanding and proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Understanding and proficiency in PLC ladder and structured text programming, GDU and HMI programming.
  • Understanding and proficiency in control system hardware design.
  • Experienced in directing and following the task
