Fives, an international player in process engineering and technology & equipment supply across various industries, has an immediate opening for a full-time Marketing & Communications Specialist to be based at Fives Steel America’s offices in Wadsworth, Ohio.

 

This role supports our marketing and communications efforts in the steel, tube and pipe, and glass industries by coordinating marketing and communications projects, trade fairs, producing marketing materials, and helping execute internal events. The right person is comfortable doing both the detail-heavy work and contributing ideas to improve how we show up in the market.

 

The individual will be part of a small international marketing and communications team united by a common purpose: supporting strategies, ideas and products with latest marketing tools, making Fives visibly outstanding and recognizable to the world, as well as engaging and inspiring internal and external audiences through creative thinking.

 

The individual will be required to create, develop and promote marketing and communications campaigns in the USA, as well as to support the marketing and communications team worldwide and will report to Vice President of Marketing & Communications of Steel & Glass Business Unit, based in France. The individual will be required to work in the Wadsworth, OH office for a minimum of 3 days per week. The remaining 2 days working remotely.

Specific responsibilities include:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with technical, sales and service teams to create marketing materials
  • Organize professional events (exhibitions and conferences) held in North and South Americas in accordance with the strategy and budget
  • Edit and proofread news, articles, presentations and other English written materials
  • Generate press releases, website news, social media and internal portal posts
  • Conduct interviews from field operators to plant managers
  • Find local suppliers for marketing & communications materials: stand construction suppliers, video production agencies, banner producers, goodies manufacturers, etc.
  • Create and redesign PowerPoint presentations
  • Respect and follow corporate brand guidelines (internal training will be provided)
  • Update websites on the regular basis (internal training for Typo3 will be provided)
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud to create marketing and communications materials
  • Assist in organizing internal events: webinars, seminars, executive meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent and two to four years of related experience
  • Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency

 

Interview Process (Skills Assessment):

Candidates may be asked to complete a brief practical exercise, which may include:

  • Writing a short press release

  • Recreating PowerPoint slides

  • Editing an image using Photoshop

  • Recording a short video presentation

 

Work environment:

This role is primarily office-based; however, occasional site visits may involve exposure to industrial environments, including:

  • Machinery and moving equipment

  • Moderate noise, airborne particles, and varying temperatures

  • Navigating stairs, tight spaces, and active production

 

Travel:

Travel to and from customer and Fives’ sites both domestically and internationally is required.  Travel is expected up to 15% of the time.
