Process Engineer
Fives Pietro Carnaghi S.p.A., part of the Fives Group, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of large machine tools for the aerospace, energy, naval and defense industries.
To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Application & Process Engineer who will help customers optimize their machining processes and define the most effective technical solutions for complex and large-scale components.
As a key technical contributor, you will work across the entire project lifecycle, from pre-sales engineering to process validation and customer support.
You will:
- Assess the feasibility of complex machining applications and define optimal manufacturing solutions.
- Support the sales team with technical studies, machining strategies and cycle time estimates.
- Define machine configurations, accessories and clamping solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Collaborate on the development of post-processors and programming tools.
- Participate in machining trials, machine acceptance tests and customer project start-ups.
- Advise customers on process optimization and advanced machining technologies.

Education & Experience
- Master's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in machining processes, industrialization, applications engineering or machining methods.
- Experience in machine tools, large machining centres or advanced manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in 3- to 5-axis machining and turning (better if vertical turning).
- Experience with CAM software such as NX CAM, Mastercam, TopSolid or similar.
- Knowledge of fixturing, tooling and machining process optimization.
- Understanding of CNC programming and Siemens Sinumerik environments.
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and 3D models.
- Fluent English.
