Fives Landis Corp – Gardner Abrasives is actively seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its team in South Beloit, Illinois.

Salary Range: $30-$34 hourly (salary is determined by experience)
At Gardner Abrasives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. Your role as a Maintenance Technician will be to:
- Diagnose problems, plan corrective action, and complete repair requirements to restore machines and equipment to full operating condition in a timely manner.
- Contribute to planning and repair stages of machine and equipment installation and rebuilding projects.
- Operate lift trucks, hoists, cranes, and other material handling equipment to support the planning, installation, and commissioning of new and used
- Provide and maintain a toolbox and standard hand tools to meet the needs of the position.
- Read and comprehend machine and equipment maintenance manuals, related parts diagrams, prints and electrical schematics.
- Ensure work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Perform general housekeeping of the repair site.
- Keep the maintenance department clean and organized.
- Understand and practice appropriate safety procedures; participate in and support FLC-Gardner Abrasives safety program and campaigns.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent Fives Landis Corp. – Gardner Abrasives as an industry leader to customers, suppliers, professional colleagues, and employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
At Gardner Abrasives and under the direction of the Production Control Supervisor, you will join the Application Engineering team.

We are seeking a candidate who has at minimum a high school diploma, 5 years of both mechanical and electrical experience, and strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot new and antiquated custom equipment. You must participate in a preventative maintenance program and have basic to above average hydraulic experience as well as a valid driver’s license. If you are a self-starter, able to work independently and work within a team setting, then we are eager to change the world with you!
