Fives Landis Corp (Gardner Abrasives) is actively seeking an Electro/Mechanical Technician position to join its teams in South Beloit, IL.

As the Electro/Mechanical Technician, you will join our local division, Gardner Abrasives, who has been a global leader in high-precision abrasive grinding wheels since 1905.

We are currently seeking an Electro/Mechanical Technician, who has the desire to prove that industry can do it!

Job Content

At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. Your role will be to:

  • Electrical troubleshooting skills should include AC / DC equipment power and control circuitry.
    (examples: motors, relays, contactors, VFDs, limit switches and proximity sensors, etc.)
  • Diagnose problems, plan corrective action, and complete repair requirements to restore machines and equipment to full operating condition, with a strong electrical focus.
  • Capable of reading and comprehending machine and equipment maintenance manuals, related parts diagrams, prints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem solving skills to troubleshoot new and antiquated custom equipment.
  • Contribute to planning and repair stages of machine and equipment installation and rebuild projects.
  • Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal guidance, as well as in a team setting.


At Fives Landis Corp (Gardner Abrasives) you will join the Maintenance team.  Conveniently located South Beloit, IL a short distance from Beloit, WI or Rockford, IL.
