We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, who has the same desire to prove that industry can do it! This role serves as a technical resource for researching, developing and designing custom-engineered solutions for advanced equipment in a variety of highly technical industries.
At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. This role:
- Maintains subject matter knowledge through additional training and experience in any of the following areas of Engineering, Methods and Technology: Materials & Mechanisms, Finite Element Analysis, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding & Joining, and other machine design topics
- Utilizes engineering and physics principals to design and develop industrial machinery
- Uses 3D CAD systems to generate mechanical designs, create assemblies and produce drawings
- Performs Finite Element Analysis using programs such as ANSYS
- Uses PDM and ERP systems to manage systems and schematics
- Provides support and guidance to technicians during machine integration. May support technicians and perform hands on assembly within the shop and at customer locations
- Troubleshoots and debugs industrial mechanical systems
- Supports management in the development of concepts and proposals, including performing concept feasibility analysis, project schedule input, and estimated cost input
- Acts as a mentor to Level I and Level II mechanical engineers in the execution of their tasks, and technical topics as needed to improve designs, drawings, and overall quality of work
Our ideal candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (required)
- 7+yrs Engineering experience (preferred)
- PE certification a plus
- Experience in machinery design, structural analysis, hydraulics, pneumatics preferred
- Experience with SolidWorks a plus
- Ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions to mitigate those problems
- Ability to decompose and analyze complicated systems
- Ability to develop designs based on stakeholder requirements within the provided schedule and budget
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Solid computer skills and experience

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $106,371.00-$140,490.00 annually, depending upon qualifications.
