Fives Services Gulf is the Fives service Centre for the Middle East, with a team of 160 people based in Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia, Fives Services Gulf provides local customer service, project execution support and local parts sourcing, in addition to carrying out refit and modernization projects, audits and technical assistance on customer sites. A team is also dedicated to the maintenance of equipment in operation at our customers' plants.

JOB PURPOSE
To develop a skilled Proposal Engineer through structured, hands-on training while supporting the Proposal Department in delivering high-quality, competitive submissions. The role offers full exposure to the proposal lifecycle across regional and functional areas.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect and organize technical and commercial data to support proposal preparation
- Draft, format, and edit proposal documents in alignment with client requirements and internal standards
- Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development Managers (BDMs), and Execution teams to gather necessary input
- Maintain proposal trackers, bid logs, Salesforce, and document control systems to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Review client tender documents to identify and summarize key technical and commercial requirements
- Assist in preparing compliance matrices, bills of quantities (BOQs), and cost sheets under supervision
- Participate in proposal meetings and document minutes and action items as needed
- Ensure proposal submissions are complete, compliant, and delivered within deadlines
- Attend site visits across Gulf countries and participate in client meetings to gather firsthand project insights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Recent graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools and CAD software is a plus
- High attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
- Eager to learn, adapt quickly, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
- Exposure to end-to-end proposal development processes
- Understanding of local and international tendering procedures
- Training in proposal writing tools, document formatting, and coordination techniques
- Development of professional communication, time management, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across GCC and MENA for site inspections, customer meetings, and technical/commercial discussions
- Flexibility to work in industrial environments while adhering to HSEQ standards
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of customer data and compliance with company ethics and policies
