CNC Milling Operator & Programmer
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate & program (manually and by software) CNC milling machines and equipment to cut and shape metal as per design and technical specifications in accordance with Company policies & procedures, and industry standards
- Review designs, blueprints, specifications, work orders, drawings etc to plan daily machine operational requirements and program the machine(s) in accordance with design specification to execute metal cutting requirements
- Load and unload raw materials / shafts using an overhead crane or JIB crane as per machine operating procedures whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Construct jigs, fixtures to meet production/operational requirements and ensure all fixtures are compliant with industry standards and specifications
- Detect and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions by adjusting controls, reprogramming machines and closely monitoring work processes to ensure machines/equipment operate as per operational standards
- Monitor inventory ensuring the suitability and availability of equipment, consumables, stock levels, raw materials etc and ensure stock replenishment is coordinated and delivered in a timely manner to support delivery of production operations
- Prepare and submit material requirements to Workshop Planner/Production Engineer, and schedule cutting works based on delivery estimates / timelines
- Ensure machine/equipment operating records are maintained and kept fully up to date as per Company policies and procedures and industry standards
- Responsible for conducting all preventative checks and assessments to ensure the machine(s) are in good working order including but not limited to executing preventative maintenance requirements as per Company policies and procedures and operating manuals i.e. complete machine/tools checklist, review electrical connections, review oil levels, changing filters, etc
- Perform quality checks during and after production to ensure machine and production conformity to specifications and quality standards
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare with design/technical requirements to determine if cutting process has been completed in line with specifications, given tolerances, and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including HSEQ requirements using Company policies and procedures as appropriate
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience as a CNC operator
- Basic user of MS Office
- Experience of working with AutoCAD and MasterCam is highly advantageous
