POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supplier Quality Specialist is a three-tiered position (Supplier Quality Specialist I, Supplier Quality Specialist II, and Supplier Quality Specialist III). This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of Supplier Quality. The Supplier Quality Specialist will be responsible for working with the suppliers to improve overall quality through site visits and virtual meetings.

The Supplier Quality Specialist is a part of the Supply Chain Team for Fives Intralogistics Corp. and reports to the Quality Supervisor.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and approve Supplier PPAP’s
  • Train suppliers on 8D and PPAP submission requirements
  • Main point of contact for suppliers
  • Perform Annual and Pre-qualification Supplier Audits
  • Attend Quarterly Business Review meetings
  • Coordinate return of non-conforming material
  • Create, review, and submit Supplier NCPs in QT9 and follow through to closure
  • Utilize SAP for part and inventory information

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two (2) years (for Supplier Quality Specialist I), three (3) years (for Supplier Quality Specialist II), or five (5) years (for Supplier Quality Specialist III) of experience in a Quality. Industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with suppliers is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive in identifying issues and raising concerns to management
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to MRP and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for measurement and investigation purposes (GD&T knowledge is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Measuring Equipment (Calipers, Bore Gauges, etc.)
  • Proven ability in MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and relevant industry standard practices is desirable
  • Associate’s degree in manufacturing, quality, or similar fields is desired (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean concepts (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is desirable) 
  • Ability to speak in front of an audience, present data findings and facilitate group discussion
  • Effectively manages time and resources

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The Supplier Quality Specialist’s work environment will be a mix of office and assembly shop floor.

TRAVEL:

This position requires business travel by airplane, car, and/or train and public transportation.  International travel is also anticipated.  The candidate must be capable of completing airplane trips of 10 or more hours.  Overnight travel is estimated at 30% of the time.
