POSITION SUMMARY

 

Fives Intralogistics Corp. is seeking a strategic, results-driven Project Management trailblazer with a proven  track record of successfully guiding complex projects from initiation to completion. The Senior Project Portfolio Manager excels at looking beyond individual projects to see how they fit into the organization's strategic vision, quickly comprehending business needs, developing cost-effective solutions, and implementing innovative strategies to achieve long-term business goals. As a seasoned project management leader with deep expertise in project management methodologies, a strategic mindset, and exceptional hands-on project execution, this role will oversee the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects and programs.

 

This position reports to the Vice President of Services and is responsible for ensuring that all projects are aligned with broader business objectives and strategic goals, while also managing financial performance, mitigating risks, and maintaining high standards of quality. Key duties include directing cross-functional teams, managing large-scale budgets, and providing regular, clear communication on project status to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and negotiator capable of leading a team in a hybrid (office/remote) environment while setting clear direction and expectations. Demonstrated mastery of motivating, guiding, and empowering teams, making tough decisions, and fostering a positive culture. Acting as a primary point of contact for project issues, they will resolve critical challenges with ingenuity and creativity, drive continuous improvement in project management processes, adeptly navigate complexity, manage competing priorities, and deliver maximum value to the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Lead and direct the Services Project Management Team and all project and program work, ensure adherence to project management processes, and implement project execution strategies. Responsible for the following:

  1. Leadership:  Provide business unit leadership for CS Project Management personnel including Project Managers, Program Managers, and Project Coordinators. Manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
  2. Planning & Organization:  Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of project/program and arrange for recruitment and/or assignment of project personnel, assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  3. Project Performance:  Provide direct oversight of all projects and programs to ensure they meet scope, schedule, and budget during all phases of the project. Meet primary schedule and budget goals while supporting achievement of new business and profit goals, customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
  4. Reverse Logistics:  Manage all Warranty, Returns, and Repair related processes including issuance of RMA numbers, tracking return status, coordination of shipping/return for damaged items, verifying receipt of returned materials, and fulfillment of replacement parts as required.
  5. Project Support:  Travel to oversee project or program progression, identify or address issues, negotiate/manage changes in scope, and support field service efforts and service channel partners. Manage post-project customer warranty initiatives including terms and conditions, return material (RMA) procedures, and costs associated with claims.
  6. Sales Support:  Provide direct support and assistance to Account Managers and sales activities related to strategic pricing, planning, and execution of CS project/programs during the initiating/pre-sales and bid development phases.
  7. Continuous Improvement:  Implement and execute evaluation methods to assess program strengths, identify areas of improvement, document and share lessons learned, and ensure application to improve.
  8. Relationship Management:  Build trusting, productive relationships with internal customers, team members, colleagues, senior management, and stakeholders through transparent and authentic communication. Meet with stakeholders to facilitate consistent communication regarding project issues and decisions.
  9. Personnel Management:  Lead and direct a team of project management employees in the day-to-day performance of their jobs to ensure project requirements are met or exceeded. Build and develop a collaborative, high-functioning team by providing effective leadership including coaching, mentoring, motivation, and performance management, resolving conflicts, as well as leading the organizational development and performance management processes.
  10. Process Management:  Manage the entire project life cycle (from initiation to closure) including leading and directing all aspects of project management while providing outstanding customer service, and facilitating long-term relationships, repeat business, and referrals. Establish efficient and balanced workflows that maximize efficiency and produce high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
  11. Customer Service:  Respond quickly, think long term when dealing with customers, showcase service excellence for client interactions and internal partners while maintaining professionalism and courteous communication. Resolve conflicts, disputes, and other issues and manage customer expectations for escalation of issues that are beyond the scope of support.
  12. Business Reporting:  Responsible for compiling and generating reports for management and clients by collecting and analyzing data associated with project/program financials and technical details.
  13. Other Duties:  Additional responsibilities as assigned including the RSPL process, parts inventory management, warehousing, spare parts program management, and purchasing related activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

  1. Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Project Management, Engineering or business-related major(s) from an accredited four-year college or university; PMP certification perferred.
  2. 5-10 years project-related experience, preferably in the material handling or construction industry managing complex and multi-faceted integration projects and programs with cross functional teams.
  3. 2-5 years successfully leading cross-functional teams of up to 10 members in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Mentored and coached project teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  4. Proven experience in budgeting, planning, financial management, supplier management, and project execution while overseeing team performance.
  5. Drove significant process enhancements, including the streamlining of project delivery processes and the implementation of new project management tools.
  6. Deep expertise in a range of project management methodologies, including PMI/PMBOK, Agile, Scrum, Prince2, Waterfall, and Lean, often leveraging a hybrid approach to suit project needs.

 

 

TRAVEL

 

This position requires frequent business travel by airplane, personal/rental car, and public transportation both domestically and internationally. Capability of securing a rental car and paying for all reimbursable travel expenses is essential. The candidate must be willing to travel as required and be capable of completing international travel of 10 or more hours.  Overnight travel is approximately 10-15% or less.
