Field Safety Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive, knowledgeable, and highly mobile Field Safety Manager to join our team. This role involves full-time travel to active construction and installation sites where complex material handling equipment is being installed. You will be the front line of our safety operations—ensuring that all job sites maintain the highest level of compliance, worker protection, and incident prevention.
As the Field Safety Manager, you will work directly with subcontractors, internal teams, and our customers to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and uphold a strong culture of safety on every project site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary on-site safety representative for assigned job sites across North America
- Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to proactively identify and address hazards
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and client representatives to promote and enforce safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with all local, state/provincial, and federal safety regulations
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses when necessary
- Deliver safety orientation, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to jobsite personnel
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation and reporting for each assigned project
- Recommend and implement site-specific safety solutions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the company’s overall Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) objectives and performance goals
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety (or related field)
- Plus 3 years of full-time construction safety management experience
OR
- Board-Certified Safety Credential from a nationally recognized organization:
- U.S.: CSP, CIH, ASP, CHST
- Canada: CRSP, CCOHS
- Plus 5 years of full-time construction safety management experience
OR
- OSHA 500 Certification (U.S.) or Canadian equivalent
- Plus 6 years of full-time construction safety management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and other applicable standards
- Experience working in environments involving material handling, heavy equipment, or industrial installations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in various locations simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience with subcontractor management and customer communication is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is an asset
Travel Requirements:
- Near 100% Travel required; must be comfortable being on the road full time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel domestically (and potentially internationally) for extended periods
