Site Manager
Fives HPM Americas is a member of the Fives Group of companies (www.fivesgroup.com) and an international player in the High Precision Machines and Automated Systems industry with leading engineered and service solutions for metal cutting, material removal, composites, grinding and ultra precision applications, has an immediate opening for a Site Manager in Lafayette, Indiana.
General Requirements:
This position is responsible for the coordination of cross functional teams to support all activities throughout the entire life cycle of the installation through final acceptance. This position is the single point of contact for the customer, internal resources, and external resources including all contracted services.
This person will be the primary contact onsite at the customers’ plant making sure all scope is executed in accordance with the contract, schedule, and quality requirements.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Validates that the customer's purchase order and the internal order write-up are consistent. Aligns if required
- Analyzes and evaluates project risks, formulates and directs risk reduction activities
- Manages the project schedule for each assigned project during the installation and through acceptance at the customer’s site
- Receives schedule "buy-in" from all functional areas involved in the project
- Controls the budgets and implementation plan throughout project installation
- Interfaces with management directly on project assessment, direction, bottlenecks and risks
- Provide verbal reports and overall project information as needed, to support daily walk-around
- Provides a single line of communication between the customer and Fives
- Coordinates all communications and visits between Fives and subcontractors
- Maintains a schedule and reporting system to reflect the progress of the project, and provides reports to the customer’s Project Manager
- Coordinates customer run-off at Customer site
- Provides complete coordination for all customer questions, concerns and needs
- Creates and coordinates recovery plans as necessary to meet the project schedule
- Advises, reviews, and obtains approval for all engineering designs related to the installation
- Coordinates efforts of various Fives divisions and subcontractors during final assembly of the various components to establish shipping dates that provide timely flow of equipment into the customer’s facility. This will lead to an efficient and manageable installation
- Coordinates and supervises installation and debug of all equipment at the customer’s facility
- Coordinates the acceptance test at the customer’s facilities according to defined procedures and agreements with the installation supervisor
- Coordinates training requirements for each project
- Assesses success and difficulties of each project
- Identifies and assists in developing new policies, procedures, routines and systems required to support or improve new projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, or 2-4 years of similar or related experience preferred
- 8+ years of experience in technical roles in manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with machine tools, CNC equipment, robotics, or industrial automation highly preferred.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive, influence and collaborate across departments and leadership levels.
Preferred Certifications:
- Active PMP Certification is a bonus but not required
- Lean, Six Sigma, or related operational improvement credentials.
- Technical certifications in machine tool operation or industrial maintenance a plus.
Work Environment: Office and Factory environment.
Travel: <15% Travel required typically to customer sites and Fives locations.
Key Competencies:
