Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform machine electrical installations of various electrical components on machine tool products such as: power tracks, electrical cabinets & electrical purchased components which may include, but are not limited to, pendants, conduits, fittings, switches, motors, temporary power connections, controls, transformers, generators, lighting, and power circuits.
- Perform electrical power panel builds – both high and low power voltage utilizing electrical schematics (inclusive but not limited to: component layout; wiring; testing; assembly of insert into panel).
- Install electrical devices on machinery by interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, vendor documentation, and assembly work instructions, ensuring maximum productivity and adherence to required deadlines.
- Conduct minor electrical testing using volt‑ohm‑ampere meters or other diagnostic tools to verify voltage, continuity, and other electrical characteristics. Perform additional electrical tests as directed by supervision.
- Connect and disconnect temporary power sources to machine tool products as needed.
- Follow established wiring work instructions and support ongoing adherence to documented standards.
- Collaborate with the wiring team to identify and recommend best practices to be incorporated into formal work instructions.
- Disassemble or disconnect electrical components to support inspection, shipment, rebuilding, or replacement activities as directed.
- Use electric soldering tools and soldering irons of various sizes on electrical cables, components, and circuit boards.
- Replace bulbs, fuses, switches, and similar electrical components on machine tools or other company products.
- Document wiring corrections in accordance with company standards and documentation practices.
- Identify and promptly report unusual conditions, potential code violations, or defective materials to proper supervision.
- Comply with all standard safety procedures, practices, and applicable electrical codes.
- Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Travel occasionally to customer facilities to support wiring-related tasks.
