Co-Op: Electrical Engineering
The student will be exposed to the engineering design process by being given assignments of increasing scope and responsibility over the course of his/her coop career at Fives Machining Systems, Inc (FMSI).
Job responsibilities will encompass:
- Design and analysis of machine tool products, with follow-up during assembly and unit/prototype testing in lab environments and or the production shop floor.
- Depending on the specific engineering discipline, the student will acquire skills in the following:
- Understanding design input requirements
- Analysis of design, for both subsystem and system level products
- Drafting practices and standards 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
- Creation of Bill of Material Release Authority Design verification/validation testing
- Interfacing with the Controls Electrical engineering teams
- Participating on cross functional project team
The student will also be exposed:
- Continuous improvement and customer satisfaction activities
- Root cause problem analysis
- Design review techniques
- Failure modes and effects analysis
- Hazard analysis
This FMSI co-op position is for the Fives Cincinnati facility. The facility is located at 2200 Litton Lane, Hebron KY, within 5 minutes of the Greater Cincinnati Airport, CVG.
