Fives Landis Corp is actively seeking Machinist to join its team in Hagerstown, Maryland.

The division has approximately 1,800 employees worldwide working in about 20 locations in Asia, Europe, and North America.

We are currently seeking a Machinist who has the same desire to prove that industry can do it!

 

Pay Range:  $22 – $26 (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)

 

At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose.  Your role will be to:

 

 

  • Review blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up.
  • Set-up machine tools such as CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, OD, ID, and Surface Grinders to produce in tolerance parts.
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, vises, and material on machine as necessary for subsequent machining operations. 
  • Calculate and set CNC control to regulate machining factors such as speeds and feeds, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut to achieve the best quality for finished parts.
  • Program CNC and NC Machines for accurate machining operations.
  • Modify CNC programs as needed for efficiency and quality. 
  • Verify conformances for finished workpiece to the specifications called out using measuring and inspection tools. I.E Calipers, Micrometers, Height gauges, Profilometer, and Metrology dept. for use of CMM.

We are seeking someone who has a minimum of a High School diploma or GED.  Verifiable experience as a machinist.  Ability to read and interpret Blueprints, sketches, manuals, and schematics.  Capable of taking accurate measurements using specialized equipment.  Solid knowledge of G-code and M codes.  Knowledge of Mazak and Mazatrol control preferred.  And basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing practices a plus.  If you are a self-starter and committed to an innovative work environment, then we are eager to change the world with you!
