Operations Manager

Fives DyAG Corp is seeking an Operations Manager for our Nashville, TN area office.  Our office is specifically located in Franklin, TN.

Fives DyAG's engineers work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager provide critical oversight for the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems. This individual’s primary responsibilities include oversight of the technical hardware and software engineering during the quote, design, build and installation phases of all projects. They are responsible for ensuring projects meet customer specifications and exceed end user expectations while maximizing company margins. This individual will have a thorough understanding of; financial and budgeting processes; leading multiple teams; and business development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility for performance to budget and timing during all phases of projects by developing and managing budgeting and budget execution with a focus on project costs and margins
• Provide expertise in the standards and specifications for the design of hardware and software
• Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings, pneumatic drawings, and mechanical sequence of operations.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to define problems, collect data, and formulate effective solutions to issues in a timely fashion.
• Train/aid controls software and hardware engineers on system design principals and assist with complicated system designs.
• Aid the customer and improve customer satisfaction through routine and regular communication.
• Act as project manager on larger projects and report to Fives DyAG management on progress, timing, and critical issues of all projects
• Travel as required to end user facilities for sales activities, customer meetings, and project activities.
• Ensure all direct-report engineers follow Fives DyAG company policy
• Drive profitable growth and ensure implementation of world-class engineering techniques, creating value-added offerings for our customers, and a drive for flawless execution of projects and delivery to customers.
• Provide leadership for maximum employee commitment, retention, & development. Build a technically competent and flexible organization.
• Creates a framework for success; leads efforts to communicate, collaborate, and share best practices across all Fives DyAG offices.

Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university and (10) or more years of experience in the field of automation controls for the automotive industry.  Prior project management expertise strongly preferred.  Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Software experience with either Rockwell, Siemens, or Mitsubishi PLC and HMI platforms, or related controls engineering role with preference of experience on multiple platforms.
• Experience interfacing with robots, servo drives, variable frequency drives, and vision equipment.
• Motion controls experience with different types of servo drives and variable frequency drives.
• Industrial Networks experience such as Ethernet I/P, Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O & Devicenet.
• Experience interfacing with plant upper end reporting systems such as FIS, MES, PM&C, Andon, CITI and PRT preferred.
• Profit/Loss (P&L) responsibility strongly preferred with a solid understanding of project finance
• Strong personal and professional judgement demonstrated in hiring and employee engagement
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills with flexibility to change priorities in a variety of functions and projects
