Accountability:

Supports internal and external customers through delivery of various materials that aid in assembly of machine or service of equipment.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Proactively maintains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Receiving, storing, and picking parts for internal and external customers
  • Monthly cycle counting of inventory
  • Picking hardware for internal and external customers
  • Safe handling and protection of parts to assure no damage
  • Withdraw parts from stock, organize and deliver to shop floor in support of machine build cycles and/or aftermarket work
  • Inspect packaging as it is received from vendors to assess damage and notify supervisor as needed

Additional Responsibilities consist of:

  • Will be trained as a backup for the carpenter, painter, and crane operator positions
  • Due to company needs, Technician may be required to come during off shifts to provide support for the needs of departments.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area
  • Ability to represent the business in a positive manor with suppliers and customers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 - 4 years related experience and/or training.

Skills Required:

  • Forklift certification
  • Overhead crane certification
  • Maintain administrative records
  • Ability to read and interpret packing slips and parts lists
  • Familiar with electronic business systems (SAP, HK, etc.)
  • Basic Microsoft Word skills required. Microsoft Excel a plus
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong, self-directed, independent work ethic
  • Ability to work off shift as required
  • Ability and willingness to mentor/instruct employees on proper part handling with an emphasis on safety
  • Ability to interpret supervisor’s priorities to get jobs done on time and make recommended changes to schedule if required
  • Ability to interface with multiple areas on the shop floor without supervisor assistance
