Maintenance Master
Accountability:
The Maintenance Master position supports operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance of plant facilities and production equipment. Accountability also includes completing scheduled preventive maintenance on all facilities systems and production equipment.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees; immediately reports all unsafe conditions to supervision or Safety personnel.
- Draws upon a broad knowledge of electronics, electricity, hydraulics, mechanics, and machining practices and techniques to successfully perform all duties
- Performs a wide range of Electrical maintenance duties:
- Isolate equipment malfunctions and/or operating difficulties and correct accordingly including testing and tuning a variety of machine tool servo systems and spindle drives by working from electronic and electrical design drawings, specifications, manuals, computer printouts, schematics, notes and verbal instructions etc.
- Plans and schedules work, select parts and components, fits and adjusts to circuits, etc.
- Operates all machines as required for troubleshooting; perform routine and periodic maintenance on a variety of NC and CNC controls.
- Performs a wide range of Mechanical maintenance duties:
- Installing, leveling and aligning, repairing, adjusting, lubricating, and rebuilding of production machine tools and attachments.
- Utilizes working knowledge of facilities material handling equipment, building operating equipment, air compressors, pumps, plumbing, etc.
- Works from machine design drawings, specifications, handbooks, etc.
- Layouts repair parts to be drilled, tapped and ground to fit repair.
- Utilizes a wide range of hand and power tools in performance of duties.
- Understands HVAC systems and how they are used in the facility.
- Employs a general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and construction skills for completing needed repairs
- Performs wide range of Inspection checks such as:
- Leveling and adjusting, checking geometries for flatness, straightness, parallelism, etc.
- Completes positioning and speed checks as necessary, test shifting, temperature, noise levels, and additional tests required to determine the qualifications of the machine as per machine tool standards.
- Uses a variety of laser test equipment, gages, and recording equipment as required before returning mechanical devices to full operation.
- Replaces all guards and safety devices prior to returning equipment to operation.
- Maintains equipment in good repair and reports any unusual conditions to a supervisor.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Must be willing to work planned shutdowns, holidays, weekends, and non-traditional work shifts as required.
Education/Certification
- Associate's degree in technical discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Technical training to include exposure to high-speed equipment preferred.
Experience
- Four (4) to seven (7) years' experience in industrial maintenance environment.
- Working knowledge of machine tools preferred.
Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate between shifts and with supervisory personnel.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team, environment completing objectives efficiently and with a sense of responsibility.
- Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments including but not limited to confined spaces and working in heights.
- Understand and comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
