Accountability:

Analyses orders and tracks schedule for machined part requirements.  Supports in-house machining processes and schedules.  Assists Production Control department by providing necessary reports and attending meetings. Contact for customer service of Machine Shop. Assist in routing creation.

 

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Using ERP reporting systems to monitor and track workload at critical work centers to efficiently utilize these assets.  Utilize this data to create manufactured part shortage reports to assist Manufacturing in weekly meetings.
  • Monitor and maintain ERP Workflow.
  • Performs MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) function for outsourced machined components.
  • Communicates with all parties to ensure on time and cost-effective internal and external part movements.
  • Communicates with suppliers on material lead times, costs, expedites and deliveries.
  • Communicates engineering drawing changes to suppliers and verifies latest revision implementation.
  • Responsible for supplier NCR (Non-Conformance Report) completion and compliance processes.
  • Utilizes scheduling tools to achieve target part delivery dates.
  • Maintains system integrity to include lot sizing, required dates, lead-times, start dates and scrap replacement requirements.
  • Quotes and creates purchase orders for raw materials needed for in-house and outsourced machining.
  • Attends weekly production meetings to communicate order status, completion dates and reschedules. 
  • Creates production orders in support of the Machine Shop routings.
  • Updates material masters for machined parts.
  • Creates routings in support of Manufacturing workflow.
  • Develops and implements daily management tools to be used on the shop floor.
  • Generates and posts Units Missing reports to communicate Engineering release status.
  • Contract machining order entry and production order creation.
  • Create required paperwork for special projects as assigned.
  • Assist the Manufacturing engineers in routing creation, and quotations.
  • First line contact for the Machine departments for vendors and suppliers.
  • ISO 9001 &14001 awareness and compliance

Qualifications (Preferred but not required):

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and/or two or more years related experience and/or training.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Average Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Average level of ERP System knowledge (company uses SAP)
  • Must be organized, detailed and schedule oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external suppliers/customers
  • Ability to read manufactured part drawings at a basic level
  • Manufacturing or Manufactured part procurement a plus
