Production and Logistics Operator
Scope of the role:
To oversee the safe, accurate and efficient control of production and logistics activities from goods receipt through to despatch.
Assist and process SAP-driven production control, inventory accuracy, kitting, RTS, reworks, and internal material movements.
Support shopfloor, assembly, plumbing, goods receiving, and aftermarket operations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate and control production orders, planned order conversions, reworks, reversals, RTS, and production priorities.
- Provide SAP system support across production, logistics, engineering, purchasing, and stores.
- Ensure inventory accuracy across stores, Maxi and Kardex, including cycle counting and investigation of discrepancies.
- Assist with kitting and ensure materials are delivered to the correct machines, assemblies, or sub-assemblies on time.
- Control goods-in, goods-out, and internal material movements with appropriate quality checks and documentation.
- Process Factory Failure Reports (FFRs), scrap production orders, and missing stock issues.
- Support ECM processing.
- As part of a team, assist with packing, inspection, and despatch of finished goods for internal, aftermarket, and intercompany projects.
- Participate in month-end processing, machine closures, audits, and year-end stock takes.
- Understand, and work at all times in line with Fives Values and Directives; specifically following the highest standards of health and safety.
- Responsible for all aspects of Data Protection, Information Security and Cyber Security.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested.
Key skills requirements:
- Strong knowledge of SAP, Powerpick, and production/logistics control systems.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proven problem-solving ability within a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication skills across all areas of the business.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- FLT reach truck, counterbalance, and VNA licences (desirable).
- Ability to work alone or part of a team.
- Able to manage own time and meet tight deadlines.
