Fives North American Combustion, Inc. is hiring a Quality Technician to join our team in Cleveland, OH.

At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common mission. Your role will be:

  • Ensure internal and supply chain quality compliance established by company and/or customer specifications
  • Evaluate data and write reports noting any deviations from company and/or customer specifications
  • Read and interpret drawings, CAD files and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product
  • Perform internal and external inspections to determine if a raw casting and/or machined casting meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document. Interpret codes and specifications in accordance with the drawing/project requirements
  • Performs inspections of raw materials, in-process and final inspections of components and finished product
  • Identify areas for quality control improvement and offer recommendations for improvement
  • Communicate with necessary personnel regarding quality defects, including manufacturing & design then problem solve those areas of concern
  • Maintain, compile and submit data of acceptance or rejection of inspections within a ERP System and other operating systems including dimensional, testing and First Time Yield (FTY)
  • Recommend and approve repairs as well as perform visual inspection of work in progress and completed work
  • Assist with gauge calibrations assuring instrumentation equipment is qualified and acceptable for use
  • Maintain calibration records of quality control equipment using GAGE-trak software
  • Assist in maintaining Quality Management Software - CAPA’s, Customer Complaints & Non-Conformances
  • Assit with Quality document package for required projects

 

 

If this is you, come join us!

  • 5+ years of blueprint reading, inspection and/or production experience in a cast/machined operation
  • Complete understanding of inspection and test equipment, including calibrations
  • Strong knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, decimals and statistical information
  • Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication and assembly processes
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000/9001quality standards a plus
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) a plus
  • Working ability in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with ERP and Quality Management software a plus
  • Ability to communicate and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization, as well as, with customers and the supply chain
  • Lean Six Sigma Knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to travel, less than 10%
