Main Mission
The Service Crane Technician’s role is to provide quality service by responding to customer service calls, performing inspection, maintenance, and repair of lifting equipment in compliance with applicable standards.
Tasks
- Perform preventive inspections of overhead cranes at the client’s site.
- Repair and maintain equipment at clients’ facilities.
- Modify lifting equipment according to the client’s needs.
- Install and/or commission new equipment.
- Respond to service calls.
- Prepare reports in accordance with Fives Services’ standards and applicable lifting equipment regulations.
- Gather information (equipment sheets, post-inspection work) and forward it to the appropriate employee.
- Collaborate with clients’ maintenance teams and provide training on the use of lifting equipment when relevant.
- Deliver excellent customer service by meeting with clients and providing relevant advice.
- Promote the company’s services to clients.
- Ensure the supply of necessary parts.
- Be open to improving work methods, implement the best practices, and share them with colleagues.
- Be proactive in health and safety by helping identify, eliminate, or control potential hazards.
- Report any potentially dangerous situation.
Education & Qualifications
- Diploma, attestation, or certificate relevant to maintenance, electrical work, or lifting/hoisting equipment (required).
- At least 3-5 years of related experience
- Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and electronics.
- Experience with lifting equipment (an asset).
- Knowledge of welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics (an asset).
- Basic computer skills (required).
- Valid driver’s licence
