Tool & Equipment Maintenance Technician

North American Construction Services, Ltd. is hiring a full-time Tool and Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Pinson/Birmingham, AL.

At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common mission. Your role will be:
- Manage tools, equipment, assets, and consumable inventory.
- Fulfill job-specific tool and equipment lists.
- Load, return, and document tool trailers and equipment containers.
- Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and tagging of inoperative equipment.
- Maintain equipment for safe operation, including fluid levels, guarding, electrical and air testing.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair single- and three-phase electrical control and power circuits.
- Maintain and repair industrial and production equipment including CNC machines, press brakes, shears, welding machines, feeders, forklifts, pumps, mixers, compressors, and fabrication equipment.
- Perform emergency and unscheduled equipment repairs as required.
- Perform facility maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, woodwork, and minor construction.
- Label and tag equipment, storage areas, utilities and chemical containers.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
- Follow company policies, procedures, ISO requirements, and health and safety practices.
- Wear, maintain, and properly store PPE.
- Attend required safety training and participate on the Safety Committee as needed.
- Know evacuation procedures and emergency equipment locations.
- Manage personal time including vacation and sick time.

- Experience in industrial maintenance, shipping and receiving.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility maintenance.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing and fabrication environments.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, procedures, and work orders.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience with gage calibration and ISO procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on multiple priorities.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Vocational or apprenticeship training preferred.
- 4–6 years of related experience and/or training.
